Funjet Vacations’ Customer Policies for Travel to Mexico

Charter/Value Flight Schedule - Updated May 28, 05:00PM (What is a Charter/Value Flight?)

Several airlines have announced temporary schedule changes that affect Funjet’s Charter/Value Flight Schedule.  These are short-term reductions and the vast majority of Charter/Value flights to Mexico will continue to fly as scheduled.  Please click on the link above for additional details.

Funjet Vacations is working diligently to take care of our customers and protect their vacation investment in light of this situation.

Customers with Travel Pending to Mexico:
If your travel plans are pending, please confirm your flight status in advance directly with your air carrier.  For Charter flights, check your travel documents for airline contact information.

Customer Options:
Please see below for details on Funjet Vacations options for customers who are currently booked on vacations to Mexico.  We encourage all customers who booked through their travel agent to contact them for assistance.   

For reservations that require special assistance, travel agents may call 1-800-558-3050. 

Customers currently booked on a vacation including scheduled air service or hotel only to Mexico for travel Monday, April 27, 2009 through Sunday, May 31, 2009:
 

  1. Funjet Vacations penalties will be waived for customers who booked their vacation by Tuesday, April 28 and choose to cancel and rebook their vacation by May 31, 2009 for travel completed by April 30, 2010. The guidelines for rebooking the air portion of the vacation vary by carrier and customers may be subject to any airline and/or hotel imposed penalties.   The customer will be responsible for any increase in price for the new vacation.  Price decrease policies vary by airline.  The customer must cancel prior to their scheduled departure time. Scheduled Airline Policies

  2.  Additionally, customers who have purchased the Complete Coverage (for applicable travel dates) who rebook their current vacation by May 31, 2009 for departures through April 30, 2010, will receive the Complete Coverage at no additional charge on their new reservation (when rebooked with the same airline) plus a $100 per reservation credit towards a future Funjet Vacation.  The customer will receive the increase or decrease in price for the new vacation.  Or, they may cancel and receive a refund less the cost of the waiver. The customer must cancel prior to their scheduled departure time.  This policy does not apply to “No-Show” situations where the customer does not check-in or is denied boarding.

  3. Funjet Vacations penalties are also waived, if your particular flight has been canceled, but is not considered an airline re-schedule.  Customers may rebook or cancel for a full refund.  This also applies to vacations beyond the May 31st travel date. 

Customers currently booked on a vacation including a Funjet Vacations Charter/Value Flight to Mexico for travel Monday, April 27, 2009 through Sunday, May 31, 2009:

  1. Funjet Vacations penalties will be waived for customers who booked their vacation by Tuesday, April 28 and choose to cancel and rebook their vacation to any Funjet Vacation offered airline by May 31, 2009 for travel completed by April 30, 2010Customers may be subject to any hotel imposed penalties.   The customer will receive the increase or decrease in price for the new vacation.  The customer must cancel prior to their scheduled departure time.

  2. Additionally, customers who have purchased the Penalty Waiver or Complete Coverage (for applicable travel dates) who rebook their current vacation by May 31, 2009 for departures through April 30, 2010, will receive the waiver option originally purchased at no additional charge on their new reservation plus a $100 per reservation credit towards a future Funjet Vacation.  The customer will receive the increase or decrease in price for the new vacation.  Or, they may cancel and receive a refund less the cost of the waiver. The customer must cancel prior to their scheduled departure time.  This policy does not apply to “No-Show” situations where the customer does not check-in or is denied boarding.

  3. Funjet Vacations penalties are also waived, if your particular flight has been canceled. Customers may rebook or cancel for a full refund.  This also applies to vacations beyond the May 31st travel date. 

What is a Charter/Value Flight?
“Funjet Vacations uses its buying power to secure the best rates to the places you want to go. Value flights - which include both charter service and special negotiated fares on select scheduled airlines - provide non-stop jet service at the most competitive rates available.  Your travel agent or Funjet Customer Care Representative can determine if your vacation includes a Value flight.

Refund Requests:
Requests for refunds can also be submitted directly through VAX VacationAccess. The reservation must first be canceled and a written request must be sent.  

Through VAX VacationAccess:
1. Retrieve your reservation from the Member Services Menu
2. Cancel your reservation
3. Select the refund option and fill in the remainder of the pre-populated form
4. Submit your refund request

Requests are processed in the order in which they are received. Depending on the processing time and billing cycle, it could take from four to six weeks until a refund appears on the credit card statement.
