Air transportation
Airfares are based on the lowest applicable airfare available under the United Vacations program at the time of booking and are subject to change. United Vacations can guarantee your airfare only after receipt of full payment. Changes in flight itineraries after the issuance of tickets may result in increased airfare.

Payment
For bookings made 48 days or more prior to departure, a per person deposit is due within 3 days of booking. In the event the method of payment is other than credit/debit card (i.e., agency check, certified check or money order), United Vacations will allow up to 72 hours for receipt of deposit to avoid automatic cancellation of the reservation. Some hotels may require an additional deposit at time of booking to confirm the reservation. Payment for any travel protection options are due at time of deposit. Deposit requirements vary based on the vacation inclusions. A surcharge may apply for bookings made over the phone to United Vacations’ reservation center instead of booking electronically. Separate payment policies apply to holiday and special event periods. Airline revision and cancellation fees apply upon deposit, full payment or a payment guarantee being made. Balance of payment is due in United Vacations’ office at least 45 days prior to departure.
If a booking is made 10-47 days prior to departure, full payment is due to United Vacations by 6:00pm CST the next day. In the event the method of payment is other than credit/debit card, United Vacations will allow until 6:00pm CST the next day for receipt of mailed payments. For all bookings made 0-9 days prior to departure, full payment is due at time of booking via credit/debit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express).
United Vacations reserves the right to reinvoice your reservation should an error be made in computing your vacation price. At the time of credit/debit card payment, United Vacations may split the merchant of record payment between United Vacations and the air carrier booked. The United Vacations portion of the payment will be processed immediately. The airline will process payment at the time the air tickets are issued.

Hotel taxes and service fees
United Vacations markets hotels under a “prepaid/merchant” model, where we collect the full amount from you in advance and manages the payments to the hotel/feature on your behalf. The booking is made by United Vacations on the customer’s behalf and includes two components to the reservation: amounts being paid by United Vacations to the hotel/feature on customer’s behalf as well as compensation for services retained by United Vacations. In connection with facilitating your hotel/feature, the amount you are charged will include tax recovery charges and service fees. This amount includes an estimate to recover the amount we pay to the hotel/feature related to your reservation for taxes owed by the hotel including, without limitation, sales and use tax, occupancy tax, room tax, excise tax, value added tax, good and services tax, and/or other similar taxes. The amount paid to the hotel/feature in connection with your reservation for taxes may vary from the amount we estimate and include in the amount charged to you. The amount charged to you also includes an amount to compensate United Vacations for services in connection with the handling of your reservation.

United Vacations is not the vendor collecting and remitting taxes to the applicable taxing authorities. Hotel/feature, as vendors, include applicable taxes in the amount billed to United Vacations and we pay over such amounts directly to the vendors. Some hotels may charge a “resort fee” upon check in that you are responsible for. Car rental companies require additional taxes and fees to be paid by you at their rental counter when renting a vehicle. United Vacations is not a co-vendor associated with the vendor with whom we book or reserves customer’s travel arrangements. Taxability, the appropriate tax rate and the type of applicable taxes vary greatly by location.

Rental car taxes and service fees
Rates for vacations including a rental car do not include state/local taxes, gasoline, optional insurance, Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), under age driver charges if under the age of 25, or airport charges, which are payable directly to the rental car company. Alamo and Dollar rental car drivers must be 21 years of age or older. A valid driver’s license and major credit card in driver’s name are required.

Travel cancellations and revisions
To avoid cancellation fees, we highly recommend purchasing United Vacations Premier Vacation Protection or Standard Vacation Protection. Cancellation is defined as a change to the departure date, a change in name (exceptions may be permitted for small corrections), a reduction to the number in the party, rebooking airfare, and/or the termination of the entire trip. All other changes to a reservation constitute a revision. All revisions are subject to availability. Separate cancellation policies may apply to optional features, holiday and special event departures.

Published airfares are a non-refundable component of your vacation.
United Airlines published airfares that are canceled prior to travel may be re-booked towards a new published airfare packaged vacation within one year of the original ticketing date, travel may occur any time. If the published airfare purchased is other than a United Airlines airfare (such as with a codeshare partner), policies may vary and may be as strict as requiring travel and booking within one year of the original ticketing date. Restrictions apply.

For bulk airfare purchased other than a United Airlines airfare (such as with a codeshare partner), unique cancellation and revision penalties may apply ranging from $25 per ticket to the ticket being non-refundable.

Any refund due to cancellation where Premier Vacation Protection has been purchased will be credited to the original form of payment, less the cost of coverage.

Refunds
If your plans change, your right to a refund is limited. You must call in and request a refund form to be completed on your behalf, or if you booked via a travel agent you must have your travel agent submit the electronic refund request no later than 60 days after the date of cancellation or any payments and deposits shall be forfeited. If you accept a refund, you waive all other rights and remedies under applicable law. By accepting a refund under the terms of the Premier Vacation Protection, the traveler relinquishes the right to their scheduled air ticket and hotel/feature/car products to United Vacations. Attempted exchange of such without the express consent of United Vacations will result in denial or reduced refund value or rebilling of the selling price if previously refunded.

Flight Information
Read your travel documentation carefully for arrival and departure instructions, including terminal information, check-in locations and flight times. Flight times are tentative and subject to change. Some countries may require aircraft cabin insecticide treatment for in-bound foreign flights. A list of such countries is available at http://ostpxweb.dot.gov/policy/safetyenergyenv/disinsection.htm. Federal law prohibits carriage of certain hazardous materials aboard aircrafts in your luggage or your person and could result in a fine. Visit www.tsa.gov and click on “prohibited items” for more information.

Prior Criminal Convictions: Mexican law permits immigration authorities to deny foreigners entry into Mexico if they have been charged or convicted of a serious crime in Mexico or elsewhere.
Any passengers who are denied boarding due to the lack of proper documentation will have their vacation cancelled and their right to a refund will be limited.

Additional Information for passengers traveling to Cuba -The Cuban Assets Control Regulations (“CACR”) administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Department of Treasury (“OFAC”) authorizes only certain categories of travelers for travel to Cuba. When you book your vacation, you will be asked to certify the reason for your visit. See more details under the Cuba Travel Certification within the checkout process. In addition, you have an obligation to maintain required records regarding your travel for 5 years. All visitors are required to have health insurance that is accepted in Cuba. The cost of this coverage is included in your air ticket. All customers will need to obtain a Cuban tourist card (entry permit) or Cuban visa before travel. The cost of this documentation is not included in your price. Please see the U.S. Department of the Treasury's OFAC FAQ page for more information.
