Apple Leisure Group® Vacations Joins Hospitality Industry’s “Buy One, Give One” Campaign to Help Jump-Start Travel and Thank Healthcare Workers

Newtown Square, Pa. (May 22, 2020) - To help jump-start leisure travel, Apple Leisure Group® Vacations has united with other members of the hospitality industry to become the only wholesale tour operator to participate in the Buy One, Give One program benefiting healthcare professionals who have been tirelessly working on the frontlines.

Hospitality has been one of the industries most impacted by the coronavirus pandemic with  70% of hotel employees laid off or furloughed and eight in 10 hotel rooms empty, according to data released by the Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA). The impact of this “pay it forward” vacation program will be to generate immediate revenue for hotels, while simultaneously providing a “thank you” to healthcare workers who have been tirelessly working on the front lines.

Getting involved is simple: agents and consumers need only book an air-inclusive stay of six nights or longer with one of ALGV’s tour operators (Apple Vacations, Travel Impressions, and Funjet Vacations) at participating properties in Mexico and the Caribbean by June 30, 2020. Promotions such as the stackable Dream Now, Travel Later reduced rates and Steal of a Deal rock-bottom pricing make it even more enticing for travelers to book the getaway they’re longing for. From there, each reservation puts one night into a room bank ALGV has set aside for this effort—up to 500 room nights.

These room nights, redeemable at participating properties, will be distributed to medical professionals who can use them toward future leisure stays so they can truly enjoy time with their loved ones.
