Apple Leisure Group Vacations’ Travel Advisor Appreciation Month Focuses on Aspiration and the Joy of Travel

Apple Leisure Group Vacations’ (ALGV) Travel Advisor Appreciation Month takes on a different atmosphere in COVID-19 America. In years past, travel advisors could count on numerous prizes like free trips, dinners, and other awards as the travel industry celebrated its loyal travel advisor distribution networks. This May, however, there still will be incentives, but, more importantly, ALGV will join forces with travel advisors for a much weightier cause: to rebuild a shutdown vacation industry and reignite travel interest in the American public.

“There is no way to underestimate the gravity of what our industry has been through in the last 60 days,” said Executive Vice President Jacki Marks. “More than ever before, tour operators, destinations, hotels and resorts, and the travel advisor community needs to band together to rebuild.”

ALGV will arm its advisor network with initiatives to help them get their clients back on track, highlights of which include:

  • Offering bonus Waves points, bonus commission on Travel Protection Plus, and an exclusive promo code for bonus commission
  • Providing advisors with a toolkit that features: pass-along email templates, social media content to engage their clients; and the new “Someday Getaway” series, showcasing destinations, resort re-openings, and virtual tours
  • Hosting multiple webinars each week with instruction on VAX, resorts, destinations and booking tips as part of the new ALGV Know. Grow. GO! remote educational series
  • Updating brand-new Steal of a Deal offers biweekly
  • Appointing an ALGV Business Recovery Advisory Board for summer session
  • Highlighting travel partners and agencies with unique and effective leadership tactics that grow the industry with a Travel Advisor Spotlight series
  • Creating editorial content with a new ALGV thought-leadership and content series
  • Scheduling virtual coffee talks with sales leadership
  • … and still offering Travel Protection Plus with Cancel for Any Reason

“We believe that May and June are an opportunity to get clients dreaming about vacations through social media, videos, and emails,” Marks said. “When we start to see changes in border permissions and stay-at-home rules, I think there will be consumer demand for travel, and we want everyone to be prepared.”
