Destination Domestic: 10 Stateside Cities to Say “I Do”

Destination weddings don’t have to take place a world away from home. Whether it’s a beachside location you crave or a busy metropolitan backdrop, the U.S. has plenty to offer when it comes to gorgeous and exciting destination wedding locations without packing your passport.

1. Las Vegas, Nevada

There ain’t no party like a Vegas wedding party, ‘cause a Vegas wedding party don’t stop. Couples love Vegas for its fun, luxury and spontaneity. With a variety of venues ranging from traditional to adrenaline-fueling, romantics can tie the knot in front of the Bellagio fountains or hundreds of feet above the strip with a daring helicopter wedding package. Of course with Vegas as the destination, a wild after party is sure to be expected and is easily doable with so many exciting options scattered across the strip.

2. Tucson, Arizona

The land of prickly pears and Saguaros, for gorgeous desert scenery the answer can only be Tucson. Nestled between popular Phoenix and the Mexican border, Tucson offers bright days and a temperate climate for those looking to celebrate their big day with a big dose of sunshine.

3. Aspen, Colorado

The perfect mash-up of luxe amenities and natural beauty, Aspen is a Rocky Mountain town with style. Plan a destination wedding between November and March and enjoy the scenery as Aspen transforms into a winter wonderland. Looking for warmer temps? Aspen’s fabulous mountain views are sure to wow no matter the season.

4. Key West, Florida

For a domestic spin on the ever-popular destination beach wedding, head to Key West, a 110-mile chain of islands just south of the Florida panhandle. With no shortage of unique ways to tie the knot (underwater, on a glass-bottom boat, in a historic home…), Key West’s clear-blue waters are sure to make the perfect backdrop to any ceremony. P.S., don’t forget to try some Key lime pie while you’re in town.

5. New York, New York

Take your nuptials to the City That Never Sleeps to get everyone on your guest list buzzing with excitement. Broadway shows, New York-style pizza, high-end shops and of course, iconic tourist attractions, NYC checks all of the entertainment boxes. As for wedding planning, New York is home to some of the best photographers, florists and caterers in the biz.

6. Cape Cod, Massachusetts

Have a soft spot for sailboats and sunsets? Consider Cape Code, MA for your destination wedding. The islands surrounding this charming coastal town play host to a plethora of local attractions including a booming art scene in Provincetown and the delicious wines harvested at nearby Martha’s Vineyard. Be sure to enjoy a bowl of clam chowder after wrapping up the perfect scenic photo-shoot on the beach.

A destination with no shortage of rainbows and waterfalls, Maui is the definition of romance. Couples who love nature will want to consider Maui for its abundance of outdoor activities such as whale watching, snorkeling, kayaking and surfing. Side note: is there a better way to keep the wedding celebration going than with a luau? I think not.

8. Savannah, Georgia

Tree-lined streets, dramatic fountains and horse-drawn carriages, Savannah is literally oozing with charm. As for the venue, this Victorian-style city has plenty to offer with lush town squares, intricate mansions, chic city museums and refurbished spaces with a trendy industrial feel. For great pictures, swing by the massive inner-city Forsyth Park or make your way to Tybee Island, a spot with a lighthouse and beach just 20 minutes away.

For a built-in honky-tonk honeymoon, get hitched in Nashville, TN, an exciting city jam-packed with live music, tasty food and plenty to see and do. Venues in Nashville are all over the board; couples can go rustic with an outdoor ceremony just on the outskirts of town or keep things metropolitan with a venue amongst the hustle and bustle of downtown Broadway Street. No matter what you choose, be sure to visit some legendary tourist hot spots such as the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame to get in the true spirit of Music City USA.
