Travel insights from Colette Baruth, Senior Vice President of Global Commerce and Distribution for AMResorts

Fresh New Options In 2020

For travel advisors, all-inclusive packages are the industry’s bread and butter, with recent surveys showing that these packages are driving a larger percentage of revenue than any other travel product apart from cruise and airfare. With this level of importance, it’s key for agents to stay informed on the latest offerings in order to continue providing clients with their best experience yet. As a major player in this market, AMResorts® branded properties use Endless Privileges®, Unlimited-Luxury®and Unlimited-Fun®to distinguish themselves from other brands in the All-Inclusive market. The Unlimited-Luxury®experience, for example, is featured at Secrets®, Breathless®, Dreams® and Now® branded properties and goes above and beyond traditional inclusions to provide guests with a superior getaway. This includes limitless access to premium beverages and gourmet dining, with no restaurant reservations required and a la carte options available for all meals including breakfast, endless daytime activities and live nightly entertainment, theme parties, daily refreshed mini-bar, 24-hour room service and more – all without wristbands. Each resort also provides unique experiences when it comes to their distinct locations.

AMResorts® branded properties recently added two new properties to their portfolio, with another four coming down the pike in early 2020. These resorts run the gamut from family-friendly to adults-only, and from Curacao to St. Martin

Closing 2019 With Style

With the year drawing to a close, two new AMResorts® branded properties hit the scene as Dreams® Resorts & Spas debuted in two new markets. In November, the brand opened Dreams® Acapulco Resort & Spa, followed by Dreams® Curacao Resort, Spa & Casino, which opened in mid-December. Dreams® Acapulco Resort & Spa is just minutes away from the local culture at La Isla Shopping Village and Acapulco’s downtown, while Dreams® Curacao Resort, Spa & Casino provides easy access to Willemstad, the capital city and UNESCO World Heritage site.

2020 Vision

There are big plans for 2020, with four more resorts on the way. Of these, three will be family-friendly and one will be adults-only. Coming soon to Mexico and the Caribbean is Secrets® St. Martin Resort & Spa, Dreams® Vista Cancun, Dreams® Macao Beach Punta Cana, and Now® Natura Riviera Cancun. All set to open in early 2020, these four new properties bring a wealth of new experiences to potential guests.

Now® Natura Riviera Cancun, a family-friendly option, features architecture and décor that is inspired by the ancient Mayan culture and includes a traditional Temazcal ceremony for guests, which incorporates hot stones and herbal steam led by a traditional Intercessor, or healer. Dreams® Vista Cancun, offering ocean views from all rooms and suites, is situated within a private gated community in an exclusive location adjacent to Puerto Cancun Golf and Shopping Center. This property will also feature a surf pool for stationary wave surfing alongside a splash pool for children.

The adults-only Secrets® St. Martin Resort & Spa is situated in Anse Marcel Bay on the French side of the island known for its outdoor markets and French and Indian cuisine. In addition to the luxurious and romantic setting, the property boasts the largest infinity pool in the Western Caribbean. Finally, Dreams® Macao Beach Punta Cana will be the only property located on Macao Beach, labeled one of the Caribbean’s top beaches by UNESCO. In addition to the idyllic location, the resort will have a water park with slides, a lazy river, splash zone and more.

With so many new properties on the market, it is as important as ever for agents to stay up to date on the latest offerings. Knowing the options available in each destination means finding the perfect spot for any traveling single, couple, family, or group to create their ideal vacation experience.
