Transitioning from Sabre Vacations U.S. to VAX VacationAccess

As of March 28, 2018, Sabre Vacations will be retired and no longer accessible from Sabre Red. Your agency may use VAX VacationAccess at no charge which includes additional content, resources and suppliers that were not available on Sabre Vacations U.S.  Below are details to assist you with this transition

To service existing bookings and make new bookings, agencies must have a VAX VacationAccess account. If you already have an account, no further action may be necessary. If you don't, a Site Manager can set up an account for you. Here are the various scenarios you might encounter, depending on your usage of Sabre Vacations and/or VAX, while setting up/accessing an account

Scenarios:

1. Agency is already registered with VAX and the agent user has the same Sabre Vacations and VAX agency number and user name.

  • These agents will be able to log into VAX and retrieve previously booked Sabre Vacations reservations.

2. Agency is already registered with VAX and has the same agency number as Sabre Vacations. However, the agent user has a different user name in VAX and the Site Manager has the agency's Secure Agent Access set as "All Reservations":

  • These agents will be able to log into VAX and retrieve reservations book on Sabre Vacations.

3. Agency is registered with VAX and has the same agency number as Sabre Vacations BUT with a different user name AND the Site Manager has the agency's Secure Agent Access set as "Agent Reservations Only":

  • These agents will NOT be able to retrieve any of their reservations that were booked in Sabre Vacations.
  • These agents may call the supplier to service existing Sabre Vacations reservations after the shutdown of Sabre Vacations.
  • These agents can still book new reservations in VAX with their existing VAX account and retrieve them.
  • NOTE: A matching user name could be created for the agent in VAX which would allow them to retrieve their own reservations that were booked in Sabre Vacations but ONLY if they have no previous reservations booked in VAX under the non-matching user name. The old user name could then be deleted after the new one is created.

4. Sabre Vacations users that do not have access to VAX:

  • ONLY Agency Managers can set up a new VAX account. Once the account registration is approved, the Site Manager can set up all of their users. Agency Managers can register for VAX at www.vaxvacationaccess.com and follow the steps to register for VAX or go directly to: https://login.www.vaxvacationaccess.com/ManageUsers/RegisterAgency.aspx?anchorstore=none
  • NOTE: Agency Managers (or the Site Managers the agency manager/owner has selected) must set up their users. Contact your Site Manager if you need a login created.
  • Managers/Owners: Before registering, please verify your agency does not already have access to VAX VacationAccess through a host agency or consortia. If your agency already has access, contact your VAX Site Manager to request login credentials.
  • Site Managers can choose to set up identical VAX and Sabre Vacations accounts (agency number and user names) which can be found under Manage Users. If the accounts are identical, your agents can access existing Sabre Vacations' reservations right within VAX.
  • If agency manager/owner sets up the new VAX account with the same agency number BUT different user names, those users will only be able to access Sabre Vacations' reservations if the Secure Agent Access is set to "All Reservations".

Agency Managers: If your agency does not already have an existing VAX account, we recommended this be done ASAP to ensure you are ready for the changes in advance. Remember, you can start using VAX right away or may choose to continue using Sabre Vacations until it is shut down

Agencies must register with suppliers to make bookings on VAX.

If your agency is already registered with a supplier on Sabre Vacations under the same account number:

You will still be registered with that supplier on VAX. However, there are suppliers available on VAX that were not offered on Sabre Vacations. In order to register for those suppliers, please view the Register to Book Suppliers page on VAX for details.

After transitioning over to VAX, feel free to check with your preferred suppliers to ensure your VAX account is linked to any supplier-specific programs.

Logging in, Locked accounts and Password resets:

If agency Site Manager has a VAX account, but hasn't logged in recently, you will want to try logging in.

As a security measure, VAX intentionally locks users out if they have not logged in within a certain period of time.

If necessary, use the "Forgot password?" option when logging in to VAX. You will need your agency number and user name.

Once you log in, you can use the Manage Users section in Member Services to view your users and unlock anyone else in your agency as appropriate (never unlock past employees or anyone that should not have access to your system). Once this is done, your agents may simply use the "Forgot password?" link on the login page if needed and will be prompted to create a new password and access the system. Remember, they will need to know the agency number and their user name, too.

If the Site Manager is having issues registering for a new account or if a Site Manager needs assistance with accessing their account, they should contact VAX VacationAccess Customer Support Center 414-934-2900 or email: vaxtechsupport@vaxvacationaccess.com. Agents should start with their Site Manager for support with accessing VAX.
