As of July 8, the state of Hawaii is now allowing people who have been fully vaccinated in the U.S. or one of its territories to enter Hawaii without pre-travel testing or quarantine. Here are four important things to know about this big update to Hawaii travel.
1. These fully vaccinated travelers must wait until the 15th day after the completion of their vaccination to enter Hawaii.
2. Fully vaccinated travelers must also create an account on the Safe Travels Hawaii website and do the following three things:
- Upload their vaccination documentation
- Sign the legal attestations
- Complete the online health questionnaire within 24 hours of departing to Hawaii
3. A CDC COVID-19 vaccination card is the preferred vaccination documentation, but these other types are also acceptable proof of vaccination:
- VAMS (Vaccine Administration Management System) printout or certificate
- DOD DD Form 2766C.
- A SMART Health Card with your vaccine record (which can be uploaded via CommonPass or vaccine record uploaded to CLEAR Health Pass)
- Proof of vaccination (source document) provided by a medical provider or authorized COVID-19 vaccination administrator
4. Travelers must also bring the hard copy of their proof of vaccination to be screened at the boarding gate or once they have arrived in Hawaii. The physical documents are preferred but digital copies will be accepted and subject to further scrutiny.
