As I sit here in Milwaukee in April, watching huge flakes of snow accumulating on my yard (substantially accumulating, I might add), I can’t help but think of how I am so looking forward to travel. It doesn’t hurt that I just completed a webinar with a supplier that has an incredible resort in the Riviera Maya. My mind is swirling with the things I look forward to when I next travel, even for business.

  1. The fresh ocean breezes dancing across my face and skin. The saltiness in the air with a slight thickness of humidity encasing me. No jacket needed, just that comforting feeling of warmth to breathe in and soaking in to feel the crustiness of winter chip away. The amazing, relaxing feeling of the sun kissing my skin infusing its glorious vitamin D into my soul.
  2. Sunrises and sunsets over the ocean! Both are equally treasured in my personal wellness in preparing for and releasing my day. There are so many beautiful places to see the sun rise or set, but over the water is my favorite.
  3. Feeling my toes in the sand and water lapping up over them. That feeling as you listen to the waves coming in, the sound as it fills your soul, soothing what ails you, bringing that feeling of lifting whatever rests on your shoulders off to blow away, even if only for a few moments. This doesn’t happen that long or often on business trips, but I try so hard to make at least one stop to the beach for this anticipated pleasure.
  4. The welcoming culture of the lovely places we visit! It really makes you understand that life is really all about being kind and there is nothing that makes a person feel more welcome than having someone extend gracious hospitality. Honestly, I feel that no matter which country I’m visiting, gracious hospitality is cherished in my travels. It makes me so much more cognizant of extending it to others as well.
  5. The pools and bars that serve you in the pool. Well, that is something I could really use right now too. Also, not something I have time to enjoy as often on business trips. When traveling for pleasure though, a good afternoon lounging in the pool with family or new friends made during the trip, this is just a delightful experience that I long to relive very soon.

Well thank you for walking through my daydream through the snow falling outside my window. This will tie me over for a bit, help me through the afternoon anyway. Is anyone else feeling this burning desire to breakout and go? What are your anticipated pleasures?
