In partnership with Tourism Cares, The Nordics recently launched the Meaningful Travel Map of The Nordics, an interactive tool highlighting 45+ vetted partners across Northern Europe that will aid in empowering travel professionals to create itineraries that benefit people and place. According to Tourism Cares, the resource is a first-of-its-kind collaboration as Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden came together to bring the map to life, showcasing the region’s “shared commitment to community, climate, and culture.”
“This new Meaningful Travel Map highlights journeys where every stay, step and meal creates a positive impact,” said Greg Takehara, CEO of Tourism Cares. “We’re proud to partner with the destination leaders and local organizations of The Nordics to help ensure visitors’ dollars reach deeper into local communities, while supporting the region’s long-term prosperity and cultural preservation.”
“This collaboration puts The Nordics’ philosophy of balance and stewardship on the world stage,” said Christina Koontz, U.S. project manager for The Nordics. “We want every traveler to experience sustainability not as a choice, but as the heart of the journey. The Nordics has long believed that travel should regenerate the places and people it touches, and by building a Meaningful Travel Map of The Nordics, we invite the world to discover not just our landscapes but our commitment to community, inclusivity, and climate action.”
According to the Meaningful Travel Map of The Nordics, sustainability is more than just a buzzword for the destination, it’s a guiding principle and way of life, something that trickles into the travel sphere in the form of stays that give back, dining that’s reflective of the seasons, nature that belongs to everyone and authentic experiences that support local communities.
