VAX VacationAccess once existed solely to book vacations for your clients. It was a handy tool for advisors, and many used it daily. Well, it’s come a long way since those days, and there is more on VAX than ever before. The website exists now not only to book vacations but to be a helpful tool for advisors in several other ways. But as more and more is added to the site, we want to make sure you, the travel advisor, are aware of it all.
Think of one of your besties – they’re with you through thick and thin and are always available to spend time with you. Now, think of VAX as your work bestie. Everything on VAX is meant to make your life easier. While you might think you know the website like the back of your hand, there are most likely a few resources you aren’t utilizing. So in order to discover what’s new and exciting, here’s what a day with your work bestie, VAX, could look like.
Have Coffee With The Compass
Full-on conversations are meant for later in the day, so why not grab your coffee and spend some time sifting through The Compass on VAX to start your work day? The Compass publishes two to three new articles each day, so head on over and explore the fresh new content. You might find yourself exploring a bit longer at first to check out The Compass’ new look. That’s right – the website is sporting a brand-new design with improved functionality.
Browse the Brand Showcases
Are you familiar with all the brands on VAX? After you’re caught up on all the new content, head over to the “Reservations & Brands” tab to browse through the showcases. Here you’ll find vacation packages, hotels, air, cruise, independent/guided tours and travel protection. Brand showcases hold tons of information, from promotions and fact sheets to sales team contacts and brochures. Even if you can’t book certain brands on VAX (like cruises or tours), it doesn’t mean to can’t learn everything you need to know about them.
Book a Vacation for Your Client
Okay, okay, that was fun. We could spend countless hours sifting through all the great content on VAX, but it’s time to make some money. Your client called you and decided they’re ready to put the deposit down on the reservation you quoted them. Head on over to “Retrieve Saved Itinerary” at the top of the page to locate the saved itinerary you have for them. But first, you might want to sift through the Offer Wizard, Promotions and Advisor Incentives under the “Offers & Incentives” tab to see if you can tack on a last-minute deal to the trip.
Destination Research
While we know advisors are a well-traveled bunch, you can’t possibly make it to every single destination. But not to worry, your bestie is here to help you still sound like a pro. Head over to the “Destination” tab and take your pick. VAX recently teamed up with Arrival Guides to provide advisors with enhanced destination content. Simply navigate to a page, read about the destination and press “Download guide” to share it with your client. Let’s say you’ve been to Hawaii but not specifically to Kauai. Hover over the “Destinations” tab and click “Hawaii.” From there, click on “Kauai” and download the guide that’s in the middle of the page. Your clients will be impressed. Stay tuned, as we continue to roll out new destination pages.
Have Lunch With Denella
You have to take a break at some point, but who says you can’t have lunch with your BFF? Lunch is the perfect time to watch one of the “Traveling with Denella Ri’chard” episodes located under the “Resources” tab on VAX. Take your pick from destinations like Martinique, Exuma, Seattle and more.
Send Quotes to Your Clients
Back to work – let’s start the afternoon by sending out a few quotes to your clients interested in booking a trip. While you’re researching vacations, remember to utilize all the helpful features available on the booking engine: multi-destination reservations, comparing itineraries, copying a reservation, etc. We built in these features with you in mind, and we are always open to feedback on how we can help make your lives easier. That’s what besties are for after all.
Learn Something New
After figuring out all the fun features available on VAX, you might be in the mood to learn something new. That means it’s time to head to the “Education” tab. While you can always join a live webinar, under the “Supplier Training & Education” dropdown, you’ll find all of our recorded webinars to watch. The “VAX Training & Education” page is where you’ll go to learn more about the ins and outs of VAX, and we even have a page dedicated to brand new advisors: “New Advisor Education.” Be sure to check the Industry Calendar for future webinars, as well as upcoming trade shows, FAM trips and more.
