I recently traveled to Jamaica and stayed at the Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa. I’ve been to this destination several times before, but it was my first time staying at this hotel. Conveniently located in Montego Bay, the property caters to a variety of travelers.

The Vibe

This resort has a lively vibe, and I would say it’s ideal for families and groups. There are activities going on throughout the day and evening entertainment every night. It’s a great size for a group because it’s small enough to keep everyone together but has enough to do to satisfy each traveler in the party.

How I Felt

Upbeat. There was a lot of hustle and bustle throughout the lobby and other main areas, and there was never a lull in things to do. But even though the resort seemed full of guests and lively, there were never super long lines at the coffee shop, buffet, activity hut, etc. There is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy without it feeling too crowded.

The Digs

The room I stayed in was nothing fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. The refreshments in the mini-fridge were always stocked, and the balcony offered views of both the mountains and the ocean. For any guests hoping to splurge on an upgraded room, there are options like the Oceanfront Prime Minister Suite and Oceanfront Royal Suite.

The Agenda

I don’t think it’s possible to run out of things to do at this resort. Each day there are group workout classes and activities near the pool. There’s also a tennis court and a game area with shuffleboard, cornhole and giant chess, as well as waterslides, watersports like kayaking and paddle boarding and a lazy river.

The Eats

One thing I heard from others prior to arrival is that Hilton Rose Hall offers several authentic Jamaican dishes, and I can now say this is true. There are a variety of specialty dining restaurants in addition to the buffet, and while I didn’t get to every single one, my favorite that I tried was Moonstone. The food was tasty, and it’s right by the water which is perfect for watching the sunset as you eat.

Why I Would Go Back

I’ve tried a variety of workout classes at different resorts, and they aren’t always memorable. Here I took a Pilates class led by a professional instructor, and it was very enjoyable. I’d love to go back and try out the other classes! The lazy river might also be calling me back for another visit.
