There are endless options for places to stay during a visit to New York City, but if being in the heart of Times Square is important to you, Tempo by Hilton New York Times Square is an excellent pick. This new lifestyle brand by Hilton debuted in August.

“With the city’s continued development boom, it was the perfect time to introduce our newest lifestyle brand and Tempo by Hilton’s first hotel to the world’s most dynamic destination,” said Danny Hughes, executive vice president and president, Americas, Hilton.

Whether you want to be out and about during your visit or take in the hustle and bustle from your room view, this hotel is an ideal spot for both comfort and convenience.

The Vibe

As you walk through the busyness of Times Square, the entrance of Tempo by Hilton offers a peaceful retreat from the crowd. And while it’s conveniently located just steps from restaurants, shops and theaters, there is plenty to explore inside the hotel. Tempo by Hilton is Hilton’s newest lifestyle brand, and it’s obvious the space has a wellness approach. In addition to a fitness center, there are nine wellness rooms that specifically cater to health-conscious travelers, each one equipped with a Peloton Bike, a yoga mat and resistance bands.

How I Felt

Revitalized. It’s hard not to catch the buzz of the energy swirling around you during a stay at this hotel, but its comfortable rooms and welcoming atmosphere create a perfect place to relax and recharge before and after painting the town. Healthy menu items, hydration stations and the onsite gym also make it easy to ensure you feel your best while traveling.

The Digs

It doesn’t take long to drift off into a peaceful sleep once you sink into one of Tempo by Hilton’s Sealy Accelerate mattresses. Out of the 661 rooms, there are several different categories to choose from. Guests can choose one of the unique options such as a wellness room, mentioned earlier, or one of the 31 ball drop rooms, which boast close-up views of the famous Times Square Ball. In addition to having the best views in the house, the Presidential Suite also features a living area, dining room and kitchenette. There are also several standard king and queen guestrooms and one bedroom suites.

The Agenda

While this was a quick stay for me prior to a conference, I definitely made the most of my visit. After gawking at my room views for a while and settling in, I ventured back down to Highball, the hotel’s signature restaurant, for a late dinner. With Central Park being only about a half mile away, I was able to walk there and spend a few hours strolling through the park and taking in the fall colors, which were just starting to change from green to beautiful reds, oranges and yellows.

The Eats

New York City is packed full of delicious restaurant options in every direction you turn, but if you want to eat at the hotel, Highball has a lot to offer. There is a selection of spirited (with alcohol) cocktails to choose from as well as wine and beer, in addition to free spirited (without alcohol) cocktails, perfect for anyone embracing sober curious travel. For dinner, guests can choose from a variety of shareable classics, small plates and main dishes.

Why I Would Go Back

Aside from the fact that my visit simply went by too quickly, I would go back to this hotel because of its ideal location in Times Square, the friendly staff who all made me feel welcome and the comfortable and stylish rooms. Having a spacious fitness center with floor-to-ceiling windows is also a big draw for me to return.
