The seven seas are about to get a whole lot swankier for 18+ sailors as luxury cruise line Oceania Cruises® recently announced its plans to transition to a fully adults-only experience beginning January 7, 2026. Known for its culinary and destination-focused itineraries, Oceania Cruises® says the move comes as a choice to elevate the brand’s onboard ambiance and as a response to the preferences of its guests.

According to Oceania Cruises® all reservations made prior to January 7, 2026, that include travelers under the age of 18 will be fully honored to ensure a seamless and considerate transition for guests. Sailors who have questions or concerns about the new policy are encouraged to visit the brand’s website or reach out to their trusted travel advisor for more information.

"Our guests have consistently shared that the tranquil environment aboard our ships is one of the primary reasons they return time and time again," said Jason Montague, chief luxury officer of Oceania Cruises. "By transitioning to an adults-only experience, we are enhancing the very essence of the Oceania Cruises journey – one defined by sophistication, serenity and discovery."

Oceania Cruises® came to the decision to pivot to an adults-only brand after conducting extensive research comprising feedback from its loyal repeat guests, vetted travel partners and new-to-the-brand sailors. According to the company, feedback consistently showed travelers prefer Oceania Cruises® for its “serene atmosphere, sophisticated service and unhurried pace, traits that are highly sought after and valued by mature, affluent travelers.”

In line with the brand’s Your World. Your Way.® promise, Oceania Cruises® says it’s dedicated to “delivering inspirational journeys that allow guests the freedom to explore at their own pace, savor each destination and enjoy the company of like-minded fellow travelers who share a passion for discovery.”
