Starting this fall, the U.S. State Department is hosting special passport fairs to make it easier for travelers to get a passport. The events are for all child applicants and for adults who are first-time applicants (meaning they have never had a passport before), so keep this important information in mind.

The list of events is updated frequently, with new passport fairs being added weekly, so check the passport fair page on the State Department’s website often to get the most up-to-date events. Other key things to note about the events:

  • Most of the events do not require an appointment
  • Every event has different hours of operation
  • Some events will only accept checks or money orders for payment
