About the Power Prompt Series

Each month, I’ll share a new “Power Prompt” designed to help travel advisors harness the power of AI — without the tech overwhelm.

These bite-sized guides turn AI into a friendly creative partner, showing you how to use simple, strategic prompts to grow your business, save time, and spark inspiration.

Whether you’re crafting social media content, refining client communication, or uncovering travel trends, each Power Prompt makes AI fun, approachable, and human. Think of it as your monthly master key to working smarter — not harder — with the help of smart tech.

The Post-Trip Relationship Builder

Most travel advisors put enormous effort into planning the perfect trip — but for some reason then go quiet once the client returns.

That’s a missed opportunity. The days immediately after a trip are when emotions are strongest, stories are fresh and clients are most likely to talk, share and start dreaming about what’s next.

This month’s Power Prompt helps you stay present in that moment — with thoughtful, personalized follow-ups that deepen relationships, spark referrals and naturally lead to the next booking.

The Prompt (Human-Optimized Version)

“Act as a relationship marketing expert for a travel advisor. Create 3 personalized post-trip follow-up messages for a client who just returned from [destination/type of trip].

Each message should:

  1. Reference a meaningful or emotional part of the trip experience.

  2. Ask a thoughtful, open-ended question that encourages the client to reflect or share a story.

  3. Subtly introduce a future travel idea or keep the relationship going.

  4. Feel warm, natural and personal — like a trusted advisor checking in, not a business following up.

Avoid generic phrases like “hope you had a great trip.” Make each message feel specific, human and memorable.”

Example Output: Couple Returning From Italy

Message 1 — The Memory Mirror
“I keep thinking about your evening in Positano — that view, that light, that kind of moment you don’t forget. What ended up being your favorite part of the trip?”

Message 2 — The Story Prompt
“You’ve been back a few days now — what’s the one story you’ve found yourself telling everyone?”

Message 3 — The Future Seed
“Trips like this have a way of sparking the next one… are you leaning more toward another cultural adventure or something slower and more relaxed next time?”

Why This Power Prompt Works

Strengthens connection: Clients feel seen, not processed.
Encourages storytelling: Stories naturally lead to referrals.
Creates continuity: Keeps you part of their travel mindset.
Drives repeat business: Plants the seed for what’s next.

Tips

You can also use a URL in place of [destination/type of trip]

Follow-Up Power Move

Once you’ve sent your follow-ups:

“Based on this client’s trip and responses, suggest 2 future travel ideas that align with their preferences, and write a short message introducing each idea in a natural, non-salesy way.”

Or for referrals:

“Turn this client’s experience into a short, story-driven testimonial I can share (keeping it natural and conversational, not overly polished).”

Takeaway Box

🧳 This Month’s Power Lesson
The most successful travel advisors don’t just plan trips — they build relationships that continue long after the journey ends.

When you stay connected in meaningful, human ways, clients don’t just come back — they bring others with them.
