Sitting on several “top places to visit in 2024” lists, Nayarit, Mexico continues to lure travelers with its lush jungles, laidback beaches and overall welcoming atmosphere. Several of Nayarit’s pillars of tourism align with the modern-day traveler, including sustainability, wellness and culinary, and these travel themes are usually of high importance on a luxury traveler’s wish list. Punta de Mita, a town in Nayarit, is home to several opulent resorts, and one property catching the eye of luxury travelers is Conrad Punta de Mita.

“While Riviera Nayarit has long been a quiet luxury enclave, the property brings a new hospitality experience to the unspoiled region – from an incredible immersion of cultural experiences to a standout culinary program,” said Marco Tabet, general manager of Conrad Punta de Mita.

After a day of travel, whether taking a flight, navigating the airport or weaving through traffic, arriving at Conrad Punta de Mita is like taking a deep breath. The initial walkway guests are guided through, leading to the lobby, is meant to help erase any negative energy and replace it with a relaxed state of mind. The unspoiled natural surroundings aid in finding this sense of peace.

Spacious Accommodations

If space is the name of the game, the accommodations at this resort check all the boxes. Even the lead-in rooms span 650 sq. ft., and connecting rooms are always guaranteed. Guests are met with a modern design and natural décor – not much is needed when you’re surrounded by the beauty of this area.

Those opting to take it up a notch can choose to dwell in one of the larger room categories, such as a 1735 sq. ft. 2-Bedroom Residence with Kitchen or a 1958 sq. ft. Beachfront Premier Suite, equipped with a plunge pool on the oversized patio. The ultimate level of luxury is found in a Beachfront Grand Suite or an Ocean View Penthouse Suite, which are 2525 sq. ft. and 3,242 sq. ft., respectively.

Transformative Wellness

It’s easy to embrace wellness during a stay at Conrad Punta de Mita. Guests can utilize the indoor fitness center or outdoor basketball, tennis and pickleball courts, which makes keeping up with fitness regimens a breeze. Nothing screams wellness more than a spa treatment, and the resort’s luxurious spa has seven treatment rooms, a sauna and a whirlpool – and that’s just inside. Outdoors, hydrotherapy and a Temazcal ritual await. Guests can relax while being surrounded by lush greenery as they wait for their service.

Culinary Creations

“Conrad Punta de Mita has four varying dining outlets that allow guests to immerse themselves in a different experience each day, alongside three bar concepts,” said Tabet. “From the beachfront feet-in-the-sand restaurant Mezquite, an open-air concept where everything is prepared over fire, to the convivial yet vibrant Arbol that offers a traditional fare, to the crown jewel signature restaurant Codex, nestled in a private enclave at the edge of the resort where the jungle meets the ocean. Codex has quickly become known for its celebration of Mexico’s best cuisine and culture through a guided culinary journey.”

Each restaurant boasts interesting menu items to order filled with locally sourced ingredients, and the resort also has an agave spirits tasting room. Here guests can take a journey through the tequila-making process and maybe even find their new favorite type of tequila along the way.

Nearby Attractions

While there are plenty of onsite activities to keep guests of all ages busy – kids club, game room, three pools, waterslide, etc. – it's always nice to discover the nearby areas when visiting a destination. “We always encourage guests to get out and explore the destination – guests can take a short trip over to the local town of Sayulita (known as a surfing village) or enjoy a variety of adventure activities such as zip-lining, sailing and seasonal whale watching which are all just minutes away from the resort,” Tabet said, adding that the resort recently introduced Conrad Concierge for guests staying in preferred suites, which allows visitors to have tailormade activity plans created by local experts.

“The new Conrad Concierge acts as a compadre, a close friend, and is dedicated to guests abiding in one of the resort’s preferred suites and personalizes the guest’s visit from pre-arrival to post-departure, taking care of every detail and anticipating every need,” Tabet said. “Guests have access to a collection of exclusive immersive experiences and tailor-made activity plans, all personally tended to by the Conrad Concierge.”

Attention to Detail

Arguably the most important part of any resort stay, customer service can be what takes a vacation from good to great. The staff members at Conrad Punta de Mita show an attention to detail that allows each guest to have a personalized experience. Arriving back to a tidy room and settling in to a reserved spot near the pool is always a nice treat, but unique experiences can be arranged to further elevate a guest’s stay. Private campfires on the beach equipped with s’mores, floating breakfasts in the plunge pool and in-room massages are just a few of the many moments that can happen to personalize a guest’s experience at this resort.

“With so much to offer, Conrad Punta de Mita is truly the perfect destination for any type of traveler,” Tabet said. “The property is perfect for multigenerational travelers with its unmatched sprawling beachfront location and expansive suites with spacious living areas, as well as families traveling with kids as they can take advantage of fun activities that capture their imagination and enjoy a variety of on and off-site adventures and experiences including surfing, private snorkeling, deep-sea fishing, whale watching and more. However, there is plenty of space for couples to indulge in relaxation at the adults only pool and swim up bar.”
