Travel advisors deserve to be celebrated every day of the year, but as Global Travel Advisor Day rolls around on May 1, the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) wants to make it an extra special day for advisors.

In order to do so, the organization is putting on a social media contest for travel advisors, sponsored by Sandals Resorts International. It’s simple: create a post to spread awareness of Global Travel Advisor Day by April 28 and be entered to win a prize.

The post needs to be on Instagram or Facebook, and advisors can go to ASTA’s social media toolkit to find a graphic to use alongside the hashtag #GlobalTravelAdvisorDay2024 and three reasons why consumers should use an advisor. They then need to send an email to mnorton@asta.org with the link to the post.

Prizes currently include:

  • Grand Prize: A four-night stay at the new Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Resort
  • One registration for ASTA’s sold-out 2025 River Cruise Expo in Vienna, Austria
  • A registration to ASTA’s 2025 Travel Advisor Conference (Location: Announced at a later date) (five winners selected)
  • A registration to ASTA’s 2025 Caribbean Showcase (Location: Announced at a later date) (three winners selected)
  • One set of two roundtrip flights on Southwest Airlines
  • One $150 BWH Hotels gift card, to be used for any hotel stay, or through the BWH online loyalty program

Travel advisors can then join the Global Travel Advisor Day LIVE Celebration on May 1 to see if they won a prize!
