The W Hotels brand is making a bold entrance into the Caribbean’s all-inclusive scene with the opening of W Punta Cana, its first adults-only, all-inclusive resort. Known for its modern design, vibrant energy and trendsetting aesthetic, W Hotels introduces a new level of contemporary luxury to the Dominican Republic’s most celebrated coastline.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a sweeping circular canopy of slender white beams leading into an airy, open-air lobby surrounded by lush greenery. Elevated wooden boardwalks guide the way toward pools, restaurants and the beach — a seamless blend of architecture and tropical nature.

Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader joined partners from MAC Hotels, Grupo Puntacana and Marriott International for the resort’s grand opening. As the first of its kind in the country, W Punta Cana signals the next evolution in the Dominican Republic’s luxury landscape.

A Fresh Spin on the All-Inclusive Experience

W Punta Cana redefines what travelers can expect from an all-inclusive stay. Instead of traditional buffets and set menus, guests can indulge in mixologist-crafted cocktails, premium wines and chef-driven cuisine that celebrates creativity and quality.

The experience extends well beyond dining. From curated entertainment and signature spa rituals to design-forward spaces made for connection and relaxation, every detail reflects the W brand’s signature energy — where indulgence meets innovation.

Inspired Design with Local Flair

The resort’s architecture, conceived by Zanobia Arquitectura, a Spain-based firm known for its sustainable and contemporary approach, merges modern minimalism with Dominican warmth. Drawing inspiration from the region’s colonial heritage and tobacco plantation roots, W Punta Cana incorporates natural textures reminiscent of cobblestone streets. The result is a sophisticated yet welcoming aesthetic that mirrors both the destination and W’s playful, design-driven spirit.

Contemporary Rooms and Peaceful Luxury

The resort features 340 spacious guest rooms and suites, each starting at 700 square feet. Every accommodation includes a bathtub and king-size bed, while two-bedroom layouts and the Oasis Mega Suites offer added exclusivity. Crisp white linens, textured stone accents and abundant natural light create an atmosphere of relaxed sophistication. Swim-out suites let guests step directly from their terrace into the pool — coffee or cocktail in hand.

Each room includes a replenished minibar, espresso machine and flat-screen TV, ensuring a stay that balances modern comfort with effortless style.

Pools and Spa Escapes

At the heart of the resort lies the WET Deck, an 262-foot infinity pool overlooking 1300+ feet of pristine beachfront — the property’s vibrant social hub. By day, guests can bask in the sun with cocktails and ocean views; by evening, the space transforms into a sunset lounge alive with music and Caribbean ambiance. For tranquillity, the Chill Pool offers a quiet retreat surrounded by tropical landscaping, plush loungers and a swim-up bar.

Wellness takes center stage at the Away Spa, a contemporary sanctuary of hydrotherapy circuits, signature massages and treatments inspired by the island’s natural elements. The spa also features a steam room, Himalayan salt room, sauna and tranquil indoor pool, creating the ultimate space for rejuvenation.

Dining and Drinks: A Global Culinary Adventure

Dining at W Punta Cana is a culinary journey infused with global inspiration and Dominican influences. Featuring 12 restaurants, bars and lounges, each venue brings its own personality — from casual daytime bites to refined, chef-led experiences.

Start the day at Outpost Café, where locally roasted Dominican coffee, fresh pastries and light bites are served in a lively market-style setting. The energy continues at Trade Market, a vibrant food hall featuring locally sourced ingredients and interactive stations. Scena, the resort’s signature restaurant, reinterprets Caribbean and Dominican cuisine through an artistic, chef-driven lens. For global flavors, The Noodle Bar satisfies cravings for Pan-Asian fare, while Taman Beach Club pairs seaside ambiance with golden-hour cocktails and sunset dining.

The cocktail program is equally elevated. Satsuma Rooftop offers sweeping panoramic views and a fresh raw bar, while The Living Room Bar features Dominican-inspired cocktails crafted with house-made infusions. Classic favorites such as margaritas, mojitos and martinis are also available, each with its own distinctive twist. A small bites menu is also offered for guests looking for a light snack. Beer lovers can unwind at The Taproom, or slip into 33 1/3 Speakeasy, an intimate hideaway featuring vinyl records, creative mixology and late-night dancing.

The experience is rounded out by Sensazioni, a lively bar and events venue that keeps the resort’s social pulse going well into the evening. Premium pours, including aged whiskies like the 20-year-old Macallan, are included.
