The Vibe

Great Gatsby meets the Caribbean. Mangrove Beach Corendon Curacao All-Inclusive Resort, Curio by Hilton felt retro-modern yet tropical and I totally loved it! There were lots of areas for groups to hang out whether near the cafe or pool bar, so you never had to search for places to chill.

How I Felt

Like I was at a European beach resort. It was lively without being obnoxious. The waterpark is away from the main area, so you never even hear it. We were incredibly spoiled with our cabanas and pool butler. Whatever we needed, she got for us whether it was a frozen coffee drink or a menu of items she could bring us from the buffet if we didn't want the standard pool food.

The Digs

Our room was an oceanfront room with two king beds which is really nice when you are traveling with a toddler. One of the king beds even came with two blankets which is so smart if you have a partner or kid who hogs or kicks off the blanket all the time. Being more European, they also have rooms with one king and two singles so you can travel with kids and still have a king bed! They also have a few penthouses and really incredible two-bedroom presidential suites with a second story loft and plunge pool. The decor in each room had a central theme of dark green or blue mixed with brass and wood. I just loved it!

The Agenda

Wake up, eat, go to the cabana to put out our stuff and then decide what to do with the day. We alternated between the main pool, waterpark and beach to snorkel. You can also set up scuba diving straight from the resort as there is a double reef nearby. The cabana was so awesome to have as you had a personal pool attendant who tended to anything you needed, even providing us with a special menu from the buffet for lunch. You are also a five-minute drive to town which is so nice because Willemstad is so adorable and worth more than one visit.

The Eats

The hotel had a good variety of restaurants. The breakfast buffet had everything including amazing fresh baked croissants and delicious donuts. Lunch had two options — buffet or a serve yourself area near the pool/beach that had everything from grilled food, Dutch snacks to schwarmas and pizza to waffles and ice cream and more donuts! Dinner restaurants included sushi, Italian, seafood and BBQ plus the buffet. In addition to these, there was also a cafe/bar/patisserie and a coffee/smoothie stand with delicious frozen coffee drinks.

Why I Would Go Back

I loved having a beach resort that was so close to town, it made it feel like an EP hotel rather than an all-inclusive where you never leave. Curacao has so much to offer that you want to get out and about!
