One of the biggest benefits of partnering with a host travel agency is that you have a built-in support system, but still have the joy of owning your own business. Each goal you reach is hard-earned and well-deserved. It’s your time, energy and determination that helps you achieve all the milestones along the way.

For many small business owners, one of the most exciting occasions to celebrate is your business anniversary! Whether you are celebrating one year in the travel business or close to two decades like KHM Travel Group, here are a few ideas to help you make your business anniversary a true celebration.

Mark the Moment on Social Media

Many of us are used to wishing our friends and family a happy birthday on Facebook and Instagram. Why should your travel agency’s birthday be any different? Social media is one of the first places you should share the excitement of your business anniversary.

Take it a step further by sharing photos and highlights of your time in the travel business. You may also want to create graphics or videos to post that share why you are grateful to be a travel agent and what your business means to you. This can help you connect with your clients, friends and family who have been a part of your journey.

Say “Thanks” to Your Supporters

Your biggest cheerleaders are your clients who send you referrals or rave about your business to their friends. They are the ones who start a sentence with, “I love my travel agent…” or “My travel agent is the best because…” Your business anniversary is a great time to say thank you to your biggest champions.

Consider asking them to share a vacation photo with you to use on social media or send them a handwritten card to let them know what their support over the years has meant to you. You may even do a giveaway, like travel mugs or luggage tags, as a way of showing your appreciation for those who have helped your business grow.

Spread the Love

Your business anniversary can be a great time to give back to your community. Consider supporting a local sports team, school theater program, church event or another organization you have ties to. Not only will you have the chance to give back to your community, but often these organizations will offer ad space in a program or some type of signage for your sponsorship. These spaces can be a great spot to share your anniversary by including a line like “celebrating 10 years in business.”

However you choose to celebrate your business anniversary, keep it fun and celebratory. At times, owning a small business can be busy and challenging. Treasuring the moments of accomplishment and celebration will remind you why you first got started. It will help keep your momentum going for many more years to come!
