This week, MSC Group’s Cruise Division shared plans for Sandy Cay, the company’s new luxury private island destination set to open in 2028. Designed to complement Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the group’s already-existing private island destination in the Bahamas, Sandy Cay will be accessible to MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys guests and will offer travelers “a new dimension of discovery, serenity and escape,” according to MSC Group.

With bright sands, sparkling blue waters and a secluded location, Sandy Cay has been carefully designed to offer guests an intimate, yet elevated experience while remaining true to MSC Group’s central goal of connecting travelers with nature and the natural beauty of the ocean.

“With the addition of Sandy Cay, MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys continue to elevate their private destination offering, creating seamless connections between life on board and experiences ashore,” said MSC Group. “Ocean Cay and Sandy Cay together represent the next step in MSC Group’s Cruise Division’s vision to deliver unforgettable holiday experiences combining relaxation, discovery and deep respect for the natural world.”

In addition to the excitement surrounding Sandy Cay, Ocean Cay is set to undergo several enhancements including the addition of more dining venues, new beach concepts for families and adults, expanded relaxation areas and even more ways for guests to engage with marine conservation via immersive experiences.
