GroupEase or Contracted Group – Which is the Right Fit?
GroupEase: With this flexible option for groups as small as 5 rooms, clients can book into the group independently while sharing a common group promo code. Pricing fluctuates based on time of booking, and no group deposit is required. It’s great for wedding groups, with many hotels offering a free anniversary stay. Plus, for every 20 paid adult passengers booked on Exclusive Nonstop Vacation Flight (ENVF) packages, you’ll earn $400 in group credit (up to a maximum of $1,600). Contracted groups: Traditional groups of 10+ rooms offer a set price for travelers with reserved block inventory. A group deposit and group contract are required. Earn ENVF credits and special group offers throughout the year, including up to $2,000 Air Credit when you book the group on ENVF. Tech enhancements have resulted in making large group bookings easier to manage, including:
- Minimizing Penalty Risk with Inventory Auto Drop
One of the biggest challenges of contracted group bookings is keeping track of all the moving pieces. Inventory Auto-Drop allows unsold room nights and contracted Exclusive Nonstop Vacation Flight (ENVF) seats to be automatically released on an agreed-upon date, minimizing penalty risks and saving time managing the group.
Opt in at the time of contract, and ALGV will take it from there. You can even add this feature for existing groups that are 60 days or more outside of their first attrition date. Amy Paris, ALGV’s Group Training Supervisor, says the majority of ALGV contracted groups are enrolled in Inventory Auto Drop.
The contracted group dashboard keeps you in control with real-time updates and all the content you need in one place, so you spend less time on day-to-day group management and administrative tasks, and more time closing new groups.
