Music and Art
Kicking off the summer is the St. Kitts Music Festival, which takes place from June 22 – 30. Bringing together island visitors and locals for a colorful celebration of music, the festival’s 26th annual showing is flexing a diverse lineup. Travelers can catch A-list musicians like Mary J. Blige, Small Axe Band, iTEBULOUS, Rick Ross, 450, Freddie Jackson, Adam O, Pumpa and more rocking out at the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium.
Nevis Culturama is another noteworthy arts experience as this summer marks the event’s 50th anniversary. Running from July 25 – August 6, Nevis Culturama showcases traditional folk art in every form imaginable including music, pageants, poetry and parades. There’s sure to be something for every visitor.
Food
In its 10th year of honoring local flavors, the Nevis Mango Festival features a variety of food experiences, of course, all mango related. From July 5 – 7, the festival offers everything from cooking and mixology competitions to tastings and chef-created delights for this delectable fruit.
For a broader culinary experience, St. Kitts and Nevis Restaurant Week highlights the best in cooking and grilling across the islands. Taking place from July 11 – 21, the week features carefully crafted menus centering around a local theme ingredient. This year, travelers will find plenty of papaya incorporated into their dishes. More local flavors can be found at Grillfest on Frigate Bay Lawn, where locals host a grilling competition.
Sport
Set to host several matchups during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 season, Warner Park in St. Kitts is the place to be for cricket enthusiasts. Running from August 21 – September 8, the matches are structured in a double round, round-robin style, meaning that there’s plenty of opportunity to watch the island’s most popular sport. Loyal fans rooting for their team make for a lively crowd, so visitors should be prepared for an immersive experience.
