I think most travelers would agree that some of the best parts of any vacation are the culinary experiences. Grabbing an espresso at a local coffee shop, having time for a sit-down lunch, sipping a cocktail as the sun goes down, trying a fancy restaurant for dinner – these are edible encounters we don’t always get to do back home, and they end up being some of the most appreciated parts of a trip.

When it comes to Punta Gorda & Englewood Beach, there are endless options for things to do during a vacation. But where should travelers fuel up in between all the fun? In addition to the famous Fishermen’s Village with restaurants and shops, here’s a list of eateries to keep in mind when visiting this Florida destination.

For Breakfast

It’s in the name… a visit to Burg’r Bar is where you’ll find a delicious burger to sink your teeth into, but don’t pass up a chance to dine here for breakfast. The stuffed French toast filled with cream cheese and strawberry sauce is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth craving. Breakfast goers can also choose from a variety of specialty omelets, pancakes and biscuits and gravy. Come for the food; stay for the relaxed, casual atmosphere.

For Live Music

Dining at Dean's South of the Border for breakfast, lunch or dinner is sure to be a treat, with menu items like huevos rancheros, enchiladas, crispy fried shell quesadillas, shrimp tacos and more. Pairing your meal with a refreshing margarita brings it up a notch, but what really adds to the experience is enjoying the live music. The restaurant’s entertainment lineup keeps guests coming back time and time again.

For Outdoor Dining

If you’re visiting from somewhere cold, chances are you want to be outside soaking up the pleasant weather as much as possible. Visitors can enjoy a delicious meal and fun cocktails with their toes in the sand at TT's Tiki Bar. Adding a game of volleyball before dinner and catching the sunset over the water and live music afterwards can turn the experience into a whole evening of fun.

While not located right in Punta Gorda, the nearby SandBar Tiki & Grille is also worthy of a mention for outdoor, waterfront dining. This Englewood restaurant also has live music and a lively atmosphere.

For a Sweet Snack

It’s not a true vacation without a sweet treat along the way. Whether it’s a latte or a bakery item, Nino's Bakery & Cafe in Punta Gorda has your back. Choose from Danishes, strudels, muffins, donuts, cream puffs and more. The bakery also serves sandwiches and daily specials. What makes it even better is the breads, cookies and pastries are made with local farm eggs, 100% real butter and unbromated flour.

For Seafood

What’s on the menu at Laishley Crab House? You guessed it – an assortment of seafood options. Sushi lovers can take their pick from the restaurant’s sushi menu. Other popular dishes include oysters, pan seared ahi tuna salad and Alaskan king crab bucket, among others. With a location on the Peace River waterfront, diners can take in the views from the outdoor dining deck during their meal.
