An article released by World Economic Forum reported the world’s top five destination cities based on the 10^th annual Mastercard Global Destination Cities Index. By tracking visitors and their spending habits, Mastercard determined that global travel and tourism numbers have steadily increased each year by 6.5% since 2009. The report also found that tourism expenditure (meaning the amount of money people spend while traveling) has enjoyed an average increase of 7.4% each year.

The top five destination cities according to the 10^th annual Mastercard Global Destination Cities Index are:

Bangkok
Paris
London
Dubai
Singapore
